Techno 293 European Championships - day 3

Only one race was possible today for some of the divisions at the Techno 293 Europeans in Cagliari, Sardinia.

Whilst the under 17 boys enjoyed a relaxing day on the beach, the under 15 boys were first to be called out to race, after an initial postponement. It was necessary for them to finish one race so that the 6-race qualification series could be completed and the final split to gold and silver fleets be made.

They raced in difficult conditions, and different from the previous day - with very light and shifty winds the order of the day. As a consequence, the results did not follow the pattern of the previous two days. Top finishers appeared from throughout the top 20 in the current rankings.

The same pattern was repeated in the only other race of the day for the girls divisions.

Here are today's results for top positions.

Under 17 girls: 1) Marta Maggetti (ITA 157), 2) Heller Hadar (ISR 609), 3) Zuzanna Czurylo (POL 287).

Under 15 boys (two groups): 1) Mikita Tsirkun (BLR 714) and Oleksanor Goncharenko (UKR 46); 2) Vincent Olmeta (FRA 152) and Antonio Congemi (ITA 17); 3) Giuseppe Zerillo (ITA 999) and Mikhail Martynov (RUS 686).

Under 15 girls: 1) Delphine Jariel (FRA 800), 2) Shay Zeidenberg (ISR 645), 3) Sarah Labourne (GBR 814).

For the final two days of the event the boys in both age groups will race in their allocated gold and silver fleets, with Under 17 boys and girls scheduled to start first on thursday.
